You’ll be gaining one hour of sleep this weekend
Don’t forget to set back your clocks by one hour on November 3rd. The end of daylight saving time will allow Quebecers and most Canadians to gain an hour of sleep. This means that the sun will rise earlier, but that our natural light exposition will be shorter.
For over a century, we have been adapting our hours to the northern seasons. In early March, we set our clocks ahead to extend our exposition to the sun. In early November, we set back our devices to winter time.
Even though we will be gaining an hour of sleep this weekend, it is only a borrowed hour that we will be losing in March when we go back to Daylight Saving Time.
